The Rev. Bill Crews Foundation will host a special Easter Sunday lunch for hundreds of struggling Sydneysiders tomorrow at its Ashfield headquarters. As political promises of financial relief remain unfulfilled, the charity continues to see record demand for its food services.
“While politicians promise relief, we are feeding those who are overlooked”, said Reverend Bill Crews.
Volunteers, including many from Sydney's Jewish community, will serve a traditional roast lunch with hot cross buns and Easter eggs. The day begins with a 10am church service designed to welcome homeless and disadvantaged people before lunch at 11:30am.
