Army help deliver hampers for the hungry

by Team Bill 27 Oct 2024

The cost-of-living crisis means lots of families will struggle to put food on the table this Christmas. So The Rev. Bill Crews Foundation will ease their burden with festive food hampers, many delivered by the Australian Army.

The Foundation will prepare more than 7,000 Christmas hampers in December. Each one will include essentials like tinned ham, crackers, soup, long-life milk, tinned fruit and coffee. They will also be stuffed with Christmas treats like puddings and fruit cakes, not to mention custard, chocolates and bon bons.

The Christmas hampers will be distributed far and wide, with the help of the Army. In fact, 3,000 hampers are destined for Peak Hill, NSW where they will be given to those in rural communities hard hit by cost-of-living pressures.
