Visits to the dentist are not covered by Medicare so most homeless people can’t afford treatment. Sadly they endure tooth decay and gum disease which prevents them eating properly, thereby impacting upon their general health.
That’s why we have a dedicated dental clinic at The Exodus Foundation. Volunteer dentists come twice a week, but demand is so great we have a waiting list of 6 weeks.
